Holy Week in Gandia begins with the traditional drumming ceremony in the Plaza of the Pias Schools and throughout the streets of Gandia’s Historic Downtown.

The event features the Davallament Musical Group of Grau de Gandia, the Band Mare de Déu Blanqueta, and drum bands from the Brotherhood of Flagellation, Santa Faz, Christ of the Angustias, and Good Death. Around 150 musicians take to the streets, marking the start of Gandia’s Holy Week and heralding the most significant days on the town’s religious calendar.
