Every May, Daimús gets—literally—lit up at its pyrotechnic correfoc street show organized by the Colla Penya Foc Seguit de Xeraco group. It’s about drum-bashing, mad getups, and lots of fireworks lighting up the evening. It’s part of spring celebrations in the town and is always heavily visited.

The name correfoc means “fire-run,” and that’s exactly what it is—actors dressed up as devils running through the streets with sparklers, firecrackers, and whirling fireworks, scaring people and dancing in a rain of sparks. It’s exhilarating, a little crazy, and downright unforgettable.

Foc Seguit de Xeraco is a local troupe from the town next door, Xeraco, and they’ve made a name for themselves all over the region for their energy and creativity. They’re a tight-knit group who love what they do—taking tradition, music, and fire and turning them into something that’s so much more than a spectacle. They train hard, make their own equipment, and put a lot of themselves into every performance. Whether it’s a city fest or a town celebration, they do it big.

As the sun dips in Daimús, the drumming starts, the devils come out, and the streets light up with fire and beat. It’s not about watching—it’s about being part of something loud, fiery, and alive.

Cada mayo, Daimús se ilumina, literalmente, con su espectáculo pirotécnico callejero, el correfoc, organizado por la Colla Penya Foc Seguit de Xeraco. Se trata de tambores, disfraces extravagantes y muchos fuegos artificiales que iluminan la noche. Forma parte de las celebraciones de primavera en el pueblo y siempre recibe una gran afluencia de público.

El nombre correfoc significa “corredor de fuego”, y eso es exactamente lo que es: actores disfrazados de diablos recorriendo las calles con bengalas, petardos y fuegos artificiales giratorios, asustando a la gente y bailando bajo una lluvia de chispas. Es emocionante, un poco alocado y absolutamente inolvidable.

Foc Seguit de Xeraco es una compañía local del pueblo vecino, Xeraco, y se ha hecho un nombre en toda la región por su energía y creatividad. Son un grupo muy unido que ama lo que hace: tomar la tradición, la música y el fuego y convertirlos en algo mucho más que un espectáculo. Entrenan duro, fabrican su propio equipo y se entregan por completo a cada actuación. Ya sea una fiesta en la ciudad o una celebración del pueblo, lo hacen a lo grande.

Al ponerse el sol en Daimús, empiezan los tambores, salen los diablos y las calles se iluminan con fuego y ritmo. No se trata de observar, se trata de formar parte de algo ruidoso, apasionado y vivo.
