CG ESCORPIÓN was founded on April 26, 1969, being the first President of the club Mr. Enrique Puigmoltó, Vizconde de Miranda. During the first years the Club had its headquarters in the golf course of Manises, later to move to the field of the Saler where it remained in lease until 1975.
The design of the 18-hole course, with the possibility of a second phase to expand to 27, was the American architect Ron Kirby.
From that moment the CG Scorpio has been scene of the best competitions of our country, emphasizing the Open of Spain of 1980 and the Championship of Spain Amateur in 1984.
In the year 2000, work began on extending the 27-hole course, designed by Alfonso Vidaor, who also was the author of the project and execution of the pairs 3 course inaugurated in 2005. With these works, the current field of 27 Holes and 9 pairs 3, driving range, 2 putting-green, and 2 chipping-green.
The Lions of Jalon and Orba are a local group belonging to the worldwide Service Organisation, Lions Clubs International. The motto of the organisation is ‘We Serve’, and members from the local community work together to help individuals and groups in need.
