The streets of Daimús came alive on Sunday, 19 October 2025, as more than 800 runners filled the coastal town with energy, community spirit, and the sound of cheering crowds for the 12th Cursa Popular a Daimús, held in memory of Francisco Javier Fuster Motos.

This annual event — officially titled the Memorial Francisco Javier Fuster Motos — honours one of Daimús’ most beloved local athletes, whose dedication and passion for running left a lasting legacy in the region. Each edition continues to celebrate his memory and the strong sense of unity he inspired within the town’s running community.

Part of the VIII Circuit Safor-Valldigna, the 2025 course covered 8.1 kilometres of flat, fast terrain through Daimús’ lively streets and along its scenic coastal promenade. From the early morning start, runners of all ages and abilities took on the challenge, cheered on by friends, families, and neighbours who lined the course.

In the men’s category, Mark Tanner of Vicky Foods Athletics claimed a decisive victory with an outstanding performance that saw him cross the finish line well ahead of the field. Salva Fluixà followed closely behind in second place, showing remarkable consistency and determination throughout the race.

In the women’s race, Diana Franqueza Robles of C.E. Dorsal 19 Pego triumphed with a confident and controlled run, taking the top podium spot. Aida Aparisi Muñoz of C.C. El Garbí secured second place after maintaining a strong, steady pace from start to finish.

Community and Celebration

The Cursa Popular a Daimús is more than a race — it’s a celebration of sport, community, and remembrance. With the sun shining over the Mediterranean and music echoing through the streets, the event once again proved why it remains one of the most cherished stops in the Safor-Valldigna running calendar.

Las calles de Daimús se llenaron de vida el domingo 19 de octubre de 2025, cuando más de 800 corredores llenaron la ciudad costera de energía, espíritu de comunidad y el sonido de la multitud animando con motivo de la 12.ª Cursa Popular a Daimús, celebrada en memoria de Francisco Javier Fuster Motos.

Este evento anual, oficialmente llamado Memorial Francisco Javier Fuster Motos, rinde homenaje a uno de los atletas locales más queridos de Daimús, cuya dedicación y pasión por el running dejaron un legado imborrable en la región. Cada edición continúa celebrando su memoria y el fuerte sentido de unidad que inspiró en la comunidad de corredores de la ciudad.

La Carrera

Parte del VIII Circuito Safor-Valldigna, el recorrido de 2025 cubrió 8,1 kilómetros de terreno llano y rápido a través de las animadas calles de Daimús y su pintoresco paseo marítimo. Desde la salida de primera hora de la mañana, corredores de todas las edades y niveles aceptaron el reto, animados por amigos, familiares y vecinos que bordeaban el recorrido.

Los Ganadores

En la categoría masculina, Mark Tanner, de Vicky Foods Athletics, se alzó con una victoria decisiva gracias a una actuación excepcional que le permitió cruzar la meta con mucha ventaja. Salva Fluixà le siguió de cerca en segundo lugar, mostrando una constancia y determinación notables durante toda la carrera.

En la carrera femenina, Diana Franqueza Robles, del C.E. Dorsal 19 Pego, triunfó con una carrera segura y controlada, subiéndose al primer puesto del podio. Aida Aparisi Muñoz, del C.C. El Garbí, se aseguró el segundo puesto tras mantener un ritmo fuerte y constante de principio a fin.

Comunidad y Celebración

La Cursa Popular a Daimús es más que una carrera: es una celebración del deporte, la comunidad y el recuerdo. Con el sol brillando sobre el Mediterráneo y la música resonando en las calles, el evento demostró una vez más por qué sigue siendo una de las paradas más preciadas del calendario de carreras de la Safor-Valldigna.
