The train service from Dénia to Alicante, officially the TRAM, stopped providing service in 2016 to undergo urgent upgrade and maintenance work on the track and bridges along the route, with a replacement bus service operating until the project was completed.

The first tests on the TRAM track have already been carried out, with a more than optimistic result. If no unexpected problem arises, the Ministry of Territories has confirmed that the service will restart on Monday, January 16 2023.

The duration of the complete journey from Dénia to Alicante by train is around 3 hours and 10 minutes.

The complete route, Denia to Alicante, requires using two lines: Line 9, which connects Dénia with Benidorm, and Line 1, between Benidorm and Alicante. In other words, a mandatory transfer must be made at the Benidorm station. H
