University of the 3rd Age / U3A Jávea

The main purpose of the Jávea U3A is to encourage lifelong learning and friendship for those no longer
in full time employment, by providing Educational, Recreational and Leisure Activities for its members.

U3A stands for the University of the Third Age. It is a self-help organisation for people no longer in full time employment. The word ‘university’ is used in the original sense of the word, ‘a community of people sharing knowledge’.

The U3A is about learning for pleasure. There is no examination and no qualifications to be gained; just the enjoyment of experiencing learning and leisure opportunities with like-minded people.
