Gandia Pride Parade Lights Up the Seafront
Gandia Pride 2026 returned to Playa de Gandia this May, bringing four days of celebrations, live performances and Pride events to the Mediterranean seafront in Valencia, Spain.
The main parade and Pride march took place on Saturday evening along the beachfront promenade, with floats, rainbow flags and music slowly making their way beside the beach as crowds gathered along Passeig Marítim Neptú to watch the event pass through the resort area.

Unlike some of the larger Pride celebrations seen in cities such as Madrid or Barcelona, Gandia Pride has a more relaxed coastal atmosphere, combining beach nightlife with LGBTQ+ visibility and community events. The setting itself is one of the highlights, with palm trees, beach bars, hotels and the Mediterranean Sea providing the backdrop to the parade route.
This year’s event featured several decorated floats moving along the paseo, with people dancing onboard while spectators lined the promenade during the warm May evening. The atmosphere was more about enjoying the beachfront surroundings and summer nightlife than a huge fast-moving parade, giving the event a laid-back Mediterranean feel.
The wider Gandia Pride 2026 programme included live DJs, drag performances and the Gala Mr Gay Comunitat Valenciana at the Moll dels Borja near the port area. Spanish performers including Azúcar Moreno, Rebeca and Natalia were part of the weekend entertainment programme as Gandia continued expanding the event into one of the major Pride festivals in the Valencian Community.
Organisers also extended the route of the Pride march this year, helping spread the event further along the beachfront promenade of Playa de Gandia. Local media reported that the event was designed not only as a celebration, but also as a visible demonstration of inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
The 2026 celebrations also came after reports earlier in the week that Pride flags displayed on the beach had been vandalised, something publicly condemned by local groups and city officials ahead of the main weekend events.
For visitors staying in Gandia during late spring and summer, events such as Gandia Pride add to the lively atmosphere already found around Playa de Gandia, especially during weekends when the promenade, marina and beach bars become busy with locals and tourists enjoying the Mediterranean coast.
Whether visiting for the parade itself or simply to experience the atmosphere around Playa de Gandia during the celebrations, Gandia Pride 2026 once again brought colour, music and summer energy to one of Spain’s most popular beach destinations.
