Every March, the Oliva Fallas ignite the Valencian Community with a dazzling spectacle of color, fire, and celebration. Held alongside the famous Valencia Fallas, this tradition pays homage to Saint Joseph and is marked by the construction and burning of fallas—elaborate, satirical monuments that capture the essence of politics and society.

As the festival unfolds, Oliva’s streets burst to life with music, fireworks, and vibrant parades. The excitement begins with the Plantà, when the meticulously crafted fallas are proudly displayed. These monuments, the result of a year’s dedication by local commissions, stand tall as symbols of artistry and community spirit. The air crackles with the thunderous explosions of mascletàs—powerful pyrotechnic displays—while spectacular fireworks light up the night.

A deeply moving moment of the festival is the Ofrenda to the Virgin of the Forsaken, where falleros and falleras, dressed in traditional attire, present floral offerings to their patron saint. Then, on the night of March 19th, the festival reaches its grand finale with the Cremà, as the fallas are engulfed in flames, signifying renewal and the close of the festivities.

Oliva’s Fallas blend history, creativity, and passion, drawing visitors from near and far. Paired with the warmth of the local community, this extraordinary event remains one of the most unforgettable experiences on Valencia’s coast.

Cada marzo, las Fallas de Oliva iluminan la Comunidad Valenciana con un deslumbrante espectáculo de color, fuego y celebración. Celebradas junto a las famosas Fallas de Valencia, esta tradición rinde homenaje a San José y se caracteriza por la construcción y quema de fallas, elaborados monumentos satíricos que capturan la esencia de la política y la sociedad.

A medida que transcurre la fiesta, las calles de Oliva se llenan de vida con música, fuegos artificiales y vibrantes desfiles. La emoción comienza con la Plantà, cuando se exhiben con orgullo las fallas, meticulosamente elaboradas. Estos monumentos, fruto de un año de dedicación de las comisiones locales, se yerguen como símbolos de arte y espíritu comunitario. El aire crepita con las estruendosas explosiones de las mascletàs, potentes exhibiciones pirotécnicas, mientras los espectaculares fuegos artificiales iluminan la noche.

Un momento profundamente emotivo de la fiesta es la Ofrenda a la Virgen de los Desamparados, donde falleros y falleras, vestidos con sus trajes tradicionales, presentan ofrendas florales a su patrona. La noche del 19 de marzo, las fiestas culminan con la Cremà, cuando las fallas se envuelven en llamas, marcando la renovación y el fin de las fiestas.
