The IX Gran Fondo Alé Cycling Gandia rolled through the scenic roads of Valencia and Alicante on April 5, 2025, bringing together cyclists of all ages and experience levels for a spectacular day of riding. Organized by Club Ciclista Escapada and featured on the UCI calendar, this international cycling event offered a challenging yet breathtaking course through the regions of La Safor, El Comtat, La Vall d’Albaida, and La Costera.

The event both started and finished on the vibrant Playa de Gandia, with the race kicking off at 8:00 a.m. along the beachfront promenade. Riders set off with the sea at their backs, heading inland to tackle a series of iconic climbs:

Puerto de la Llacuna – A tough and scenic ascent, known for its steep gradients and panoramic views.

Beniarrés Pass – A timed climb that tested each rider’s endurance and speed.

Benigànim Pass – A milder section providing a short but welcome break.

Alto de Pla de Corrals – The final climb before a thrilling descent back to the coast.

The route covered mostly quiet, low-traffic roads, ensuring both safety and an enjoyable riding experience. After completing the loop, cyclists returned triumphantly to Playa de Gandia, where the Mediterranean breeze welcomed them across the finish line.

To celebrate the achievement, participants and supporters gathered for a lively post-ride celebration by the beach, featuring local food, prize raffles—including cycling gear and traditional hams—and a festive atmosphere. Each rider also received a commemorative maillot as a keepsake of the day.

La IX Gran Fondo Alé Cycling Gandia recorrió las pintorescas carreteras de Valencia y Alicante el 5 de abril de 2025, reuniendo a ciclistas de todas las edades y niveles de experiencia para una espectacular jornada ciclista. Organizada por el Club Ciclista Escapada e incluida en el calendario UCI, esta prueba ciclista internacional ofreció un recorrido desafiante pero impresionante por las comarcas de La Safor, El Comtat, La Vall d’Albaida y La Costera.

La prueba comenzó y terminó en la vibrante Playa de Gandia, y la carrera dio el pistoletazo de salida a las 8:00 h en el paseo marítimo. Los ciclistas partieron con el mar a sus espaldas, dirigiéndose hacia el interior para afrontar una serie de subidas emblemáticas:

Puerto de la Llacuna: una ascensión exigente y pintoresca, conocida por sus pronunciadas pendientes y vistas panorámicas.

Puerto de Beniarrés: una subida cronometrada que puso a prueba la resistencia y la velocidad de cada ciclista.

Puerto de Benigànim: un tramo más suave que ofreció un breve pero bienvenido descanso. Alto de Pla de Corrals – La última subida antes de un emocionante descenso de vuelta a la costa.

La ruta discurrió principalmente por carreteras tranquilas y con poco tráfico, garantizando la seguridad y una experiencia ciclista agradable. Tras completar el circuito, los ciclistas regresaron triunfantes a la Playa de Gandía, donde la brisa mediterránea les dio la bienvenida al cruzar la meta.

Para celebrar el logro, los participantes y aficionados se reunieron en la playa para una animada celebración posterior a la ruta, con comida local, sorteos de premios (incluyendo material ciclista y jamones tradicionales) y un ambiente festivo. Cada ciclista también recibió un maillot conmemorativo como recuerdo del día.
