After three and a half months of intensive restoration following the devastating DANA storm on 29 October 2024, the Bonaire Shopping Centre in Aldaia, Valencia, has officially reopened. On 13 February 2025, the centre welcomed back shoppers with 99 stores in operation, marking a significant step towards normalcy for the local community.​

The reopening saw the return of 60% of fashion retailers, including major brands like Zara, H&M, FNAC, and Sephora. All leisure and dining venues, such as the cinema and bowling alley, have resumed activities. New additions to the centre include Miniso, Santa Gloria café, and Bobby’s restaurant. The remaining stores, including Primark, Mango, and Cortefiel, are scheduled to reopen by the end of March, some featuring updated store concepts .​

The reopening event was attended by local authorities, emergency services, and representatives from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW), the centre’s owner. The occasion was marked by a sense of gratitude and celebration, with special offers, live music, and community activities under the slogan “Volvemos a latir” (“We beat again”) .​

The DANA storm had severely impacted the centre, flooding its underground parking and causing extensive damage. Thanks to prompt emergency protocols and the efforts of staff and rescue teams, no casualties occurred. The successful reopening of Bonaire not only restores a vital commercial hub but also symbolizes the resilience and solidarity of the Valencian community.

A hundred stores recover from this day their activity after the devastating floods that affected Aldaia last October 2024.

Some stores such as Women’s Secret or Cortefiel will open soon. The Factory Bonaire area dedicated to brand outlets has also partially reopened.
