Fallas Ninot Parade 2026 Highlights – Oliva Spain
The Cabalgata del Ninot 2026 in Oliva, Spain, once again brought colour, satire and creativity to the streets as part of the annual Fallas celebrations. Held in the weeks leading up to the main Fallas festival in March, the Ninot Parade is one of the most entertaining and community-driven events in the Oliva Fallas calendar.
The Cabalgata del Ninot is a traditional pre-Fallas parade where each Fallas commission presents a themed procession featuring costumes, music, humour and artistic performance. Unlike the more formal acts of Fallas week, this parade allows for playful satire, social commentary and imaginative storytelling. Participants often dress in elaborate costumes reflecting the theme of their monument (ninot), combining theatre and fiesta atmosphere in equal measure.
In 2026, the streets of Oliva were once again filled with marching groups, decorated floats and lively music. Families, children and long-standing members of the Fallas commissions all took part, highlighting the strong sense of community that defines Fallas in Oliva. The parade route passed through key areas of the town, attracting large crowds of residents and visitors eager to experience one of the most vibrant traditions in the Valencian Community.
The term “ninot” refers to the large artistic figures created by each Fallas commission. These sculptures, often humorous or satirical, are displayed during Fallas week before most are ceremonially burned during La Cremà on 19 March. The Cabalgata del Ninot acts as an introduction to these themes, giving commissions the chance to showcase their creativity long before the monuments are installed.
