The Floral Tribute to Our Lady of the Abandoned in Gandia is the most emotional and symbolic gesture of the Fallas festival. On March 18th, it unites falleros, falleras, and residents in a touching act of worship to the patroness of Valencia.

Dressed in their beautiful traditional Valencian outfits, the contestants walk along the streets of Gandia in a colorful procession, each carrying exquisitely composed bouquets of flowers. The flowers are arranged to create a beautiful floral mantle for Our Lady of the Forsaken during the presentation at the Colegiata de Santa María, and each bouquet forms part of the elaborate pattern, symbolizing unity and devotion.

This ceremony is not a religious ritual in itself—it’s an ancient custom that testifies to the people of Gandia’s culture, religion, and pride. The atmosphere is electric with emotion, as some of the participants even weep while presenting their flowers, all against the sounds of traditional music.

La Ofrenda Floral a Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados en Gandía es el gesto más emotivo y simbólico de las Fallas. El 18 de marzo, une a falleros, falleras y vecinos en un emotivo acto de veneración a la patrona de Valencia.

Vestidos con sus hermosos trajes tradicionales valencianos, los participantes recorren las calles de Gandía en una colorida procesión, cada uno portando ramos de flores exquisitamente elaborados. Las flores se disponen para crear un hermoso manto floral para Nuestra Señora de los Desamparados durante la presentación en la Colegiata de Santa María, y cada ramo forma parte del elaborado diseño, simbolizando unidad y devoción.

Esta ceremonia no es un ritual religioso en sí misma, sino una antigua costumbre que da testimonio de la cultura, la religión y el orgullo de los gandianos. El ambiente está cargado de emoción, y algunos participantes incluso lloran mientras presentan sus flores, todo ello al son de música tradicional.
