What Is an ACCV Digital Certificate?

The ACCV (Agència de Tecnologia i Certificació Electrònica) Digital Certificate is a recognised electronic certificate that allows you to prove your identity when accessing Spanish public administration websites. It is widely used throughout the Valencian Community and is accepted by many public administrations for secure online procedures and electronic signatures.

Who Can Apply?

Individuals who meet the ACCV eligibility requirements can apply for a personal certificate. Many applicants in the Valencian Community obtain one through their local Ayuntamiento or another authorised ACCV User Registration Point (PRU).

What You’ll Need

Before starting, have your valid TIE, DNI or Spanish passport available, together with an email address and mobile phone number. If you intend to generate the certificate yourself, use a Windows computer as instructed by ACCV.

Method 1 – Apply Online Using Video Identification

Visit the ACCV application portal and complete the application form with your personal details. Create a password when prompted. Choose the video identification option and follow the instructions sent by SMS and email to record a verification video with your identification document. After ACCV reviews the application, you will receive a Generation Code by SMS. Use this code together with the password you created to access your ACCV Personal Area (APSC) and generate your certificate.

Method 2 – Apply at an ACCV Registration Point

If you prefer, or if online identification is not suitable, visit an authorised ACCV Registration Point. Many Ayuntamientos provide this service. Staff will verify your identity using your TIE, DNI or passport and register your application. Once your identity has been confirmed you will receive a Generation Code by SMS together with an email explaining how to generate your certificate from your own computer.

Generate Your Certificate

Open the ACCV generation page on your Windows PC, enter your identification details, Generation Code and any requested password, then follow the on-screen instructions. At the end of the process the certificate will be downloaded as a .p12 file. Save this file somewhere safe before installing it.

Install the Certificate

Open the downloaded .p12 file and follow the Windows Certificate Import Wizard. Once installed you will be able to identify yourself on compatible government websites and digitally sign documents. You can also import the certificate onto your own additional devices.

Create a Backup

Keep the original .p12 file in a secure location, protected with a strong password. This backup allows you to reinstall the certificate if you replace your computer or mobile device.

Using Your Certificate

After installation you can use your ACCV Digital Certificate with many online public services, including local councils, tax services, Social Security, DGT and other administrations that accept recognised electronic certificates.
