Palacio Ducal (Ducal Palace or Palacio Borja)

The palace was built and restored throughout seven centuries, from the 14th century to the 20th century. In this palace, the Royal Dukes of Crown of Aragón had their main residence.
You can see in the interior the magnificent courtyard (Patio de Armas), the Crown Assembly Hall and the Spectacular Gold Gallery.

Castillo de Bairén, Gandia
This castle dates back to Muslim era and has 3 parts: the shelter for the rural population, the castle in itself and the village. Although the castle is ruined, it is worth visiting, as it was the background of one of the battles between the army of El Cid (the medieval Spanish hero), and the North-African Muslim troops.

Alqueria del Duc
Fortified building which was in ruins until it was purchased by the City of Gandia in 1981. It is a typical example of manor farmhouse with interior courtyard.

Las Esclavas del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús
Beautiful Neo-Gothic church dated from 1908. Now the main task of Las Esclavas is teaching.

Colegiata
Gothic style. This collegiate church was built under the rule of the King Alfons el Vell (The Elder) during the 14th and 15th century, over the ruins of a mosque.

Antigua Universidad:
The old university of the Jesuits (1549-1767) is also called “Los Escolapios”. Since 1806 it´s a school and cloister of the holy order Escolapios. It had been renovated in 1999. Now it is a center of education and culture. In front of the building are statues of the Borja family.
