Remember that during July and August, is extremely hot, so consider the golf tee times that you request very carefully. Do not get dehydrated and take plenty of liquids with you so you, maybe even putting a freezer block in your bag may help!

It is an outstanding, undulating course in a dramatic, contrasting landscape. One minute you are trying to steer clear of trees and shrubbery and the next you are battling to avoid barren rock outcrops. Be warned it is a battle you might well lose. But you will love trying.

Best bits of the course are the challenge of propelling your ball over a series of gorges and ravines. The first – a 341-metre sharp dogleg right of a par four- sets the tone. You can either gamble and drive over a rocky hillock or play safe by taking an iron , aiming for an area straight ahead but leaving a lengthy second shot. It was been designed by Severiano Ballesteros in 1998. Located at the beach of San Juan a northern suburb of Alicante.
Open since 1998 this excellent 6,270 metre par 72 course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros. Its location is excellent, bordering the cosmopolitan city of Alicante, and 800m from the popular Playa de San Juan (San Juan beach). At just 20 minutes from Alicante’s El Altet international airport this course is ideally placed for weekend golfing visits.

Additional facilities at Alicante Golf are available are; a driving range, putting green, chipping green, practice bunker, on course WC, on course beverages, restaurant, snack bar, games room, sauna, pro shop, buggy hire, club hire, trolley hire (electric and manual), golf lessons and club repair.

The course is also home to the luxurious 156 room Hesperia Golf Spa Hotel. This five star rated hotel is tastefully decorated and boasts all the facilities of a luxury hotel. Host to a health and beauty centre, a range of specialist treatments are also available.

Alicante Golf also boasts a good commercial zone, namely the “Ronda Shopping Centre”. This houses a selection of shops, cafes and restaurants of varying sizes, set out in the style of a typical Andalusian village. Most of this is pedestrianised, well laid out and an asset to the course and residential zones.
